About this space
A place to settle in and get things done.
Civic House in Glasgow is a bright, open-plan coworking studio, communal canteen and flexible event space set within a reimagined 1920s print works. Exposed industrial details, generous natural light and a warm, sociable atmosphere give it a distinctive character, while the building’s community-minded approach makes it feel more like a shared creative home than a conventional office. The coworking offer is designed for freelancers, remote workers, sole traders and small organisations that need flexibility as their work develops. Options include day access, monthly hot-desk memberships, trestle desks and fixed desks. Depending on the plan, members can use shared facilities, benefit from rolling contracts, arrange a business address, make use of storage and access selected desk spaces beyond standard daytime use. There is more here than desk space. Civic House supports meetings, workshops, exhibitions, talks, performances, festivals and food events, with a communal kitchen, accessible ground-floor toilet, shower facilities and zoned fibre Wi-Fi. The building is arranged over two levels connected by stairs; the first floor has no lift, and the ground-floor platform lift is currently out of order, with an accessible ramp temporarily in place. Civic House is particularly well suited to people working across the arts, architecture, design, community development, sustainability, social enterprise and green innovation. Its active programme and shared setting encourage useful connections between members, while a Passivhaus retrofit and solar generation reflect Agile City’s wider commitment to positive environmental and social change.
