About this space
A place to settle in and get things done.
Coalville C.A.N. is a member-owned Community Benefit Society and a welcoming community hub in Coalville, bringing people together through shared spaces, creative activity and locally led regeneration. Its work centres on connection, wellbeing, learning and community ownership, with opportunities for people to contribute, collaborate and develop ideas. At CAN HQ, visitors and hirers can use rooms for meetings, workshops, training, team gatherings, support groups and community sessions. The venue offers meeting, workshop, classroom and other adaptable spaces, with Wi-Fi, tables, refreshments, kitchen access and toilets available in the listed facilities. Some rooms can be used outside the building’s public opening times, and accessible toilets and fully accessible room options are advertised. Coalville C.A.N. also runs a lively creative exchange. MAKERS showcases work from more than 80 local creatives, including ceramics, glass art, paintings, woodcraft and metalwork, while the gallery hosts exhibitions with free entry. Clubs, creative workshops, events, pop-ups and community projects add a changing programme, creating opportunities to meet others, learn new skills and support local makers. The hub is suited to local residents, community groups, charities, artists, small businesses, organisations and practitioners looking for a friendly place to meet, make or get involved. With free parking and a supportive, community-led atmosphere, it offers more than a room or retail space: it is a practical base for collaboration and a place where new ideas can grow.
