Midsteeple Quarter Enterprise Innovation Hub provides a welcoming base for entrepreneurs, remote workers and people developing tech or creative businesses in Dumfries. The hot-desking area is located within The Standard, Midsteeple Quarter’s community-owned building, and offers affordable half-day and full-day desk hire. The hub is delivered in partnership with CodeBase through Scotland’s Techscaler programme. This gives entrepreneurs opportunities to connect with start-up support, programmes, courses and events, while the shared workspace encourages collaboration and the exchange of ideas. It is suited to people who want a professional place to work in town rather than working from home. The Standard also provides a range of spaces for meetings, workshops, exhibitions, conferences, live entertainment and community gatherings. The Green Room is designed for meetings, exhibitions, gigs and workshops, while the Front Room can accommodate pop-up shops, small exhibitions, community consultation events and office use. The Garden Room offers a calmer setting for meetings, workshops or a peaceful day’s office use. As part of Midsteeple Quarter’s wider regeneration work, the hub sits within a lively community setting where business activity, learning, events and local enterprise come together.
