SWG3 Design Studio is a communal creative workspace in Glasgow, offering 16 desks for local creatives of all kinds. Although designers are well represented, the studio is intended for a broad mix of practitioners who want a dedicated place to work alongside others rather than working alone at home. Part of SWG3’s wider arts and studios community, the space brings together people working across design, fashion, art, music, nature, food and related creative fields. Its character is sociable and collaborative, with an emphasis on sharing ideas, company and everyday creative energy while retaining a professional setting. Workspace facilities include fixed desks, meeting rooms, a shared kitchen, sheltered bike storage and high-speed Wi-Fi. Residents can also benefit from access to a community garden, weekly fitness sessions and guest passes for selected gigs, club nights and shows. The Design Studio is well suited to freelancers, studio dwellers, designers and other independent creative practitioners looking for an established community around their working day. SWG3’s Design Studio materials also describe personal desk space with storage and 24/7 access for successful programme participants, alongside a friendly shared environment with around 20 other creatives.
