About this space
A place to settle in and get things done.
The Canopi is a grassroots creative hub in Cardiff where co-working, coffee, exhibitions and live events sit under one roof. Run as a Community Interest Company, it supports the next generation of creatives through practical opportunities, mentoring, internships and hands-on workshops. By day, the space combines a relaxed coffee bar, co-working hub and gallery. Visitors can settle in with a locally roasted coffee, browse the library, meet collaborators or share creative work. The atmosphere is informal and welcoming, with room for conversation, learning and ideas to develop. When the lights go down, The Canopi becomes an intimate cultural venue for first gigs, live music, spoken word, pop-up exhibitions, open-mic nights, film and comedy events, fashion pop-ups and community meet-ups. Its programme brings together independent artists, makers, performers and audiences, while creating an approachable setting for people experimenting with something new. The Canopi also supports creative development through workshops and initiatives for young adults, alongside opportunities to learn from professional artists and connect with like-minded people. With a ground-floor layout, permanent ramps, widened doorways and an accessible toilet, it aims to make participation more inclusive. It will appeal to emerging creatives, artists, makers, performers, community groups and anyone looking for an inspiring place to work, gather or discover new ideas.
