About this space
A place to settle in and get things done.
The Carousel is a community building and social enterprise in Nottingham city centre, bringing together work, creativity and culture in one supportive setting. Established as an art space, it now provides a shared home for small businesses, freelancers, remote workers, designers, artists and other creative practitioners. Its coworking offer combines practical facilities with a friendly, collaborative atmosphere. Members have access to quiet spaces, Wi-Fi, kitchen facilities, tea and coffee, lockers, copy equipment, specialist printers, bookable spaces, art materials and iMacs equipped with Adobe Creative Cloud. A free Community Work Day takes place every Wednesday, welcoming remote workers, freelancers, small business owners and anyone looking for a community-led workplace. Creative production is at the heart of the venue. The digital facilities include bookable iMacs, drawing tablets, flatbed scanners, audio equipment and projection facilities, while the print equipment includes laser, Giclée, Risograph, paper screen and textile screen printing. Private studios are also available, although the current studio offer is full and operates a waiting list. Beyond the working day, The Carousel provides meeting space and an event venue for workshops, talks, screenings, exhibitions, comedy, spoken word, live music, performances and private celebrations. The space includes presentation and sound equipment, seating, lighting and a fully licensed bar. With regular creative and cultural programming, it offers an inviting base for people who want to work alongside others, make things, share ideas and take part in Nottingham’s independent arts community.
