About this space
A place to settle in and get things done.
The New Plaza is a restored Grade II-listed Art Deco landmark in Port Talbot, operated by YMCA Port Talbot as a welcoming community hub. Its purpose brings together wellbeing, culture, business and community in one distinctive town-centre venue. For freelancers, entrepreneurs, home-workers and small teams, the business hub offers hot-desking and conference-room hire, with shared workspace, superfast broadband, breakout space and a kitchen. Meeting and office facilities also support local organisations, community groups and growing ventures. The building’s cultural offer includes the Sir Anthony Hopkins Theatre Hall, a versatile performance and events space with retractable seating for up to 252 people, professional lighting, sound and projection facilities, and layouts suitable for presentations, performances, parties and community events. A dance studio and developing digital recording provision add further scope for classes, rehearsals and creative activity. Visitors can also make use of the gym, fitness studio and Caffi Plaza, which serves hot and cold food and drink in a warm, family-run setting. The venue’s mix of practical workspace, leisure facilities, arts provision and social space makes it suitable for local residents, businesses, performers, community organisations and visitors looking for an accessible place to work, meet, create or spend time together.
